RAGBRAI was pretty boring for a while; However in 1993, Keith Stickrod and Craig Ludwig started riding together and met part of the Brown family.   In 1994 they decided to ride this thing called RAGBRAI.  On day II of the ride they met a stranger (Scott Brown) standing in the middle of the road with a garbage bag as a poncho and a pair a bike shorts on his head  (Ask him for the full story).   Later that year Scott moved to Illinois (or maybe Iowa kicked him out), Keith and Craig continued to ride and they recruited more riders (among them Jim Brown).  Meanwhile back in Illinois Scott met 'Riddle' and conned him into riding RAGBRAI '97.  Riddle agreed because, after all, Iowa is flat (WRONG).  They rode with Scott's brother Jim for a while then bagged it the rest of the week.  After swearing all week long (at Scott, at Iowa, at the wind, at being out of shape) Riddle rode into Ft. Madison and swore this was the greatest thing since the invention of the wheel (you knew we'd get back there somehow).   In 1998 Craig had a bus and a team called Team Spin.  The name was suggested by Keith Stickrod's wife, since when they were riding they were going for a spin.  In 2000 Jim Brown bought the bus and inherited the team.  That was also the first year the team used stickers.  Needing a unique method of applying the stickers, one of the Brown brothers picked up a girl, spun her upside down and put the sticker on her butt.  The team continued to grow over the years (and continued to apply stickers in our own special way).  In 2003 we got jerseys, which were nice (purple and gold), but other teams had jerseys too.  As we were getting ready to take the team picture on the first day Jim Wegener showed up (late as usual), but he carried with him a box that was full of magic.  The purple wigs were an instant hit and the tradition was born.  AND THE REST IS HISTORY
